It is the only online bachelor of science in this field of study organized in active cooperation with an intergovernmental institution whose programs are officially used by active diplomats and civil servants over 4 continents, many of whom have reached high governance levels (ambassador, minister).

This program is a valuable first step towards graduate studies in research-related fields including medicine, public health, and science education.

Présentation académique

A Bachelor's degree in Fundamental and Applied Research is a specialized academic program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct in-depth research across a wide range of disciplines. This degree program combines the foundational principles of research methodology with practical applications, preparing graduates for careers in research, development, innovation, and academia.

Key components of EULER' Bachelor's degree in Fundamental and Applied Research include:

  1. Research Methodology: Students receive comprehensive training in research methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. They learn how to design experiments, surveys, and studies to gather and analyze data effectively.
  2. Scientific Inquiry: The program emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to ask meaningful questions and explore new areas of knowledge. This foundation is essential for conducting rigorous research.
  3. Interdisciplinary Studies: Many programs offer the flexibility to explore a variety of fields, allowing students to apply research techniques and principles across different subjects. This interdisciplinary approach broadens their research capabilities.
  4. Practical Experience: Hands-on experience is a crucial component of this degree. Students will engage in research projects, internships, or collaborations with faculty members, gaining practical skills and exposure to real-world research challenges.
  5. Data Analysis and Technology: Students learn to use advanced software and tools for data analysis, modeling, and visualization. Proficiency in these technologies is vital in contemporary research.
  6. Communication Skills: Effective communication of research findings is emphasized. Students develop strong writing and presentation skills, enabling them to convey their research results to both academic and non-academic audiences.
  7. Ethical Research Practices: Ethical considerations in research, including the responsible conduct of research and issues related to integrity and plagiarism, are central to the curriculum.
  8. Specialization: Depending on the program, students may have the option to specialize in areas such as scientific research, social sciences, climate & earth sciences, health sciences, or engineering research.

Graduates of a Bachelor's degree in Fundamental and Applied Research are well-prepared for a range of educational and career paths. They can pursue roles in research institutions, universities, government agencies, private industry, and non-profit organizations.

Potential career options include research analysts, data scientists, laboratory technicians, research associates, policy analysts, and academic researchers.

Furthermore, this degree equips students with a strong foundation in critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, which are highly transferable and valuable in many professional settings. It also serves as a stepping stone for those who wish to pursue advanced degrees (master's or doctoral) and become experts in their chosen fields of research.
