Prof George Said-Zammit

Dr George A. Said-Zammit is the current Ambassador of Malta to the State of Kuwait. Born in 1969, Prof Said-Zammit received his tertiary education at the University of Malta, graduating in Classics and Archaeology in 1990. In 1994 he obtained a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology from the University of Durham, and in 2016 a Doctor of Philosophy in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Leiden (The Netherlands). He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Anthropologists. He is the author of various academic monographic works and papers published in Malta and abroad. Prof Said-Zammit spent thirty-three years of his professional career in the field of education, starting as a teacher in 1990 and ending up in senior management position within the Ministry for Education. In 2008 he entered the Public Service and was appointed as Education Officer of Social Studies and European Studies. Then, in 2014 he became Director Student Services, and between 2017 and 2023 he served as Director of Examinations. For several years he represented Malta and the Ministry for Education as a National Coordinator of the Human Rights Education Programme of the Council of Europe. During this long-time career, Prof Said-Zammit attended various seminars and conferences locally and abroad. He also attended various training sessions in various foreign countries, including the United States. In 2021 George A. Said-Zammit was appointed as Non-Resident Ambassador of Malta to the Republic of Armenia and Georgia. In 2023 he became Ambassador of Malta to the State of Kuwait, with a Non-Resident Status to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
